Wild Woods was founded by Derek Luff in 1988 and, in partnership with Richard Gelles, expanded in 1994 into the iconic Centrum Building on Cahuenga West, across from Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Over the decades, Wild Woods earned its reputation as an industry-leading sound house—garnering multiple Primetime Emmy and Academy Award recognitions for work in documentary, feature film, high-end unscripted, and branded content.

Today, Wild Woods Sound offers a full suite of creative sound services alongside Re-Mastering, Audio Description, and Foreign Dubbing. Through its XTracks division, Wild Woods is also recognized globally as a pioneer in sound separation technology with its proprietary “Xtraction” platform.

Complementing Wild Woods Sound is DL Music, a sister company also founded by Derek Luff. A Berklee College of Music alum, Luff partnered again with Richard Gelles in the early 1990s to build an expansive music licensing and publishing company. DL Music curates instrumental tracks, indie artist catalogs, and popular song libraries, while also providing custom music composition and sonic branding services. Its global network of composers, publishers, and content creators supports media productions across every scale.

Together—Wild Woods Sound, XTracks, and DL Music—deliver a uniquely comprehensive solution for studios, networks, streamers, and global branded content creators. From world-class sound innovation to remastering and music, this ecosystem provides an unparalleled one-stop resource for the evolving needs of media production and distribution worldwide
